Tactical Shotgun matches are a perennial favorite at LGC. We only do two or three in a given season but they are worth the wait. Tactical shotgun differs from other disciplines in that it focuses on the ‘practical’ aspects of shotgunning. We don’t use aerial targets like you see in trap and skeet. Our moving targets rarely go higher than six feet but don’t let that fool you into thinking this game is easy. What we lack in target movement we more than make up for in competitor movement. That’s right, tactical shotgun is not a ‘stand there and shoot’ discipline. You will run, or walk if you prefer, through a course with obstacles, vision barriers, popups, and disappearing targets. One of the first things new competitors learn is how easy it is to miss a ten inch steel plate from 20 feet.
